GrowthInvest, the independent platform for advisers and their clients in the tax efficient investment arena, has launched a series of webinars for advisers.
Called The GrowthInvest Adviser Hour, it focuses on tax efficient investments and is produced in association with Capital Connections. Beginning on Thursday, the series will live-stream from 11:00am to noon for six consecutive weeks and will be available on demand thereafter.
The platform said that aim of The Adviser Hour is to provide an accessible educational forum for advisers to learn about tax efficient investments, understand the existing landscape and understand what the future might hold. Aimed primarily at financial advisers and wealth managers, The Adviser Hour will be relevant both for advisers experienced in the space and those who are looking to it for the first time. Each CPD qualifying episode delves into a number of key themes around tax efficient investments with a look at key investment sectors, diversification, analysis of the current landscape, including the significant changes brought about by the Patient Capital Review and the Autumn Budget, as well as discussions on how EIS, VCT and IHT investments can be best used for longer term financial and retirement planning.
The show will also canvass opinion from industry leaders on what the future holds and how important these types of investments might be for the UK economy over the next few years. There will be a continued focus throughout the series on the underlying investments and investee companies themselves.
Lawrence Gosling, Editorial Director at Vitesse Media, will be the series presenter and aims to bring a unique approach to each episode. They will feature a panel discussion between four industry experts, typically a mixture of product providers, financial advisers, independent analysts and trade bodies, before a series of more detailed in-depth interviews with the guests.
Series contributors are being finalised, but are expected to include many of the companies behind the 50+ investments that now feature on the GrowthInvest platform. The EIS Association, the AIC, Helm Godfrey, Foster De Novo, Calculus Capital, Par Equity, Deepbridge Capital, Oxford Capital, Stellar Asset Management and Lightbridge Partners are amongst the guests featuring in the first three episodes.
Daniel Rodwell, Managing Director of GrowthInvest said: “We are delighted to launch the initial series of The Adviser Hour, and hope that it will prove to be a hit with adviser community and the wider industry. We are seeing increasing engagement with online content from all our adviser and investor clients, and wanted to make interesting relevant views and opinions from industry leaders available to advisers right across the UK.
“The Adviser Hour will provide advisers with a simple and accessible mechanism by which to learn about or improve their knowledge of tax efficient investments. We believe that tax efficient investments should play a part in many more client portfolios, and the series is specifically designed to answer questions and address barriers to their use by advisers. Whilst we hope to secure a regular slot in many advisers’ diaries, we are acutely aware of the time pressures they are under. As such all content will be available on-demand on the GrowthInvest platform for those unable to view the live show, or as a reference point for future use. Both the live and the on-demand content will qualify for CPD accreditation”
Gosling added: “I am delighted to be involved in The GrowthInvest Adviser Hour, and hope that the series will really hit the mark in terms of providing advisers a great deal of insight into the world of tax efficient investments. We will aim to address the key questions and concerns that advisers face on a daily basis, and I will be very interested to hear the differing points of view and approaches from an excellent and knowledgeable group of industry figures.”
Shane Smith, CEO of Capital Connections, the production company behind The Adviser Hour, said: “Capital connections and Easy TV are delighted to be supporting the GrowthInvest Adviser Hour. We have been working with early stage investments alongside the EISA and the UKBAA. And through our sister brand Intelligent Crowd TV, we were proud to bring “The Seed & EIS Hour” to the industry. We aim to make The Adviser Hour a similarly innovative and ground-breaking series.”
