Practically defining fintech before the word was coined, he now on his third billion-pound fintech start-up. He’s most famous for founder of Worldpay, which merged with Vantiv for £9.1bn. However, on his social media profiles, he merely refers to it as: “built up Worldpay and sold it for not enough money.”
The night hosted a discussion on how data will shape the way EIS funds work, and was presented by CEO and Co-founder Gonçalo de Vasconcelos, as SyndicateRoom announce the final call to invest in their own data-driven EIS funds for the 2017–18 tax year.
Chief Investment Officer gave a brief overview of how Fund Twenty8 – the world’s first passive EIS fund – uses an algorithm to diversify across 28 or more investments, while Francesca O’Brien, SyndicateRoom’s Head of Capital Markets, outlines the way Growth Fund draws on performance data to influence its investment decisions.
